Salvation: How To by ExaltGod Salvation: How To by ExaltGod
EDIT: I've reworded this stamp a bit.  Don't worry, the message of salvation hasn't changed, I'm just trying to make this stamp as clear and easy to understand as possible.

1) Realize you are a sinner, and that this separates you from God, who is perfectly righteous.

Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God;"

Romans 3:10-12
"as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
there is none that understandeth,
there is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way,
they are together become unprofitable;
there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

Habakkuk 1:12-13
"Art thou not from everlasting,
O Lord my God, mine Holy One?
we shall not die.
O Lord, thou hast ordained them for judgment;
and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil,
and canst not look on iniquity:
wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously,
and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?"

Psalm 145:17
"The Lord is righteous in all his ways,
and holy in all his works."

And neither am I by ExaltGod

2) Understand the penalty for sin (Hell).

Because God is 100% just and 100% righteous, He must punish sin.

Deuteronomy 32:4
"He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment:
a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he."

Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death..."

Amos 2:4
"Thus saith the Lord;
For three transgressions of Judah,
and for four,
I will not turn away the punishment thereof;
because they have despised the law of the Lord,
and have not kept his commandments,
and their lies caused them to err,
after the which their fathers have walked:"

All sin will be punished:

*either through Jesus' death on the cross
*or by you going to Hell

John 3:36
"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:
and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life;
but the wrath of God abideth on him."

Hell is Real by ExaltGod

How did Jesus' death on the cross pay for our sins?
Jesus, who never sinned once, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice to pay for sin.
As the spotless lamb of God, He shed His perfect blood for our sins, and took on the Father's wrath for our sins.

A) The physical, bloody death of Jesus was required for the price to be paid:

Romans 5:10
"For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."

Ephesians 1:7
"[JESUS CHRIST], in whom we have redemption through his blood
the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"

Leviticus 17:11
"For the life of the flesh is in the blood:
and I [GOD] have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls:
for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."

Isaiah 53:5
"But he [JESUS CHRIST] was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed."

B) Jesus took on God the Father's full wrath towards the sin that He held in His body:

Isaiah 53:10
"Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:
when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin..."

John 18:11
"Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath:
the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?"

Revelation 14:10a
"The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation..."

1 Peter 2:24
"[Jesus Christ], who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree..."

Nothin but the Blood of Jesus by ExaltGod

3) Believe that Jesus (God in the flesh ) died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again the 3rd day.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4
"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,
how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

Romans 5:8
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Matthew 12:40
"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly;
so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

Romans 4:22-25
"And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead
who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."

 God's Not Dead by ExaltGod

4) Put your faith in Jesus' sacrifice as the only thing that can pay for your sins.

Romans 3:24-25
"Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood
to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;"

Ephesians 2:8-9
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Romans 5:9
"Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."

Romans 5:11
"And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
by whom we have now received the atonement."

A Ransom For Many by ExaltGod

5) Trust in Jesus alone to forgive & save you.

John 14:6
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Ephesians 1:12-13
"that we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:
in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,"

Romans 5:1
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:"

Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Colossians 2:13
"And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh,
hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;"

Faith in GOD by ExaltGod

Repentance, even though it isn't mentioned by name on this stamp, is part of salvation.  Repentance is simply "a change of mind".
And that's clearly explained here in this stamp.
You have to change your mind about being a sinner, knowing the penalty of sin, believing what Jesus did for you, trusting in what He did to pay for your sins, and having faith in Him to forgive and save you.

Here's a stamp I made on repentance: STAMP…
"God requires that in order to be saved one must truly repent (Acts 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9). The word means "a change of mind" and there must be that concerning God, sin and salvation. Men think that sin does not really separate them from God--they must change their mind about that. Men think that salvation is by works--they must change their mind about that. There is nothing more evident today than the absence of repentance among those who are professing to be converted."

One final point:
As stated in the stamp, we're saved when we believe on, put our faith in, and trust Jesus and what He did to save us.
We are NOT saved by "being a good person", or "doing our best to serve God".

Titus 3:5
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,
by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;"

Is it good to serve God and do good works?
But if you're trusting in your good actions to save you, you're going to go to hell.
You must trust solely in Jesus Christ's righteousness, His blood and death on the cross, burial, and resurrection for salvation.

This sounds so negative ...

isnt God the Father of Love? Forgiving all his children?
Even if they dont believe in him?

I say "Love" is the important thing the bible wants us to teach .. not hell or blind faith.

I know a person, who is pure good but doesnt believe in god. And I dont think, that a person who loves and makes other people's lifes brigther, would have no value in the eyes of god.
ExaltGod Featured By Owner Oct 24, 2014
I disagree.  The message of this stamp is extremely positive: we all deserve Hell, but God has provided a way of salvation for us, and it's a free gift.

God is love, yes (1 John 4:8).
But not everyone is a child of God.
We get adopted into God's family when we get saved by faith.
Galatians 3:26--"For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."

Furthermore, Christians do not have "blind faith".
If a person's faith is blind, they do not know or understand what they have faith in.
I know who I have faith in: Jesus Christ.
And I know what I have faith in: His atoning death on the cross and subsequent resurrection.

No one is "pure good".
Romans 3:23--"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

We have all sinned against God, and we all justly deserve Hell.
But God desires that all men and women be saved from Hell.
1 Timothy 2:3-4--"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."

But not everyone is Child of God? Thats new to me. Wow, we were teached so differently.

I bet that discussion would be no good :)
You'd never agree to what Im saying and I would never agree to what you're saying xD

I just want you to understand me and I want to understand you :)

I believe in heaven and hell on earth which can only overcome by ourself with the help of (belief in) Love/God/Jesus.
I dont think that the bible is the word of god himself. Its made by persons who just tried to understand god like you and me. Thats why I think its full of "right" and "wrong" parts.
Pretty mundan isnt it...?

But im not quite shure, what you believe in ... help me to undertand.
You believe in God and Jesus who ... want to save you from hell? And thats their only goal?
ExaltGod Featured By Owner Oct 24, 2014
What is your objective source of truth from which you derive your beliefs?
My objective source of truth is God's word, the Bible.  I can trust it because God wrote it, and God cannot lie.
What do you trust?  Just yourself?  If so, that's a pretty shaky foundation to stake your soul on.

I believe the Bible.
The Bible teaches us that Jesus (who is God) created the universe and placed mankind on earth to rule it.
But Adam and Eve sinned against God, and thus fell from perfection.
Because God is holy and righteous, He cannot condone sin.  He must punish it. That's why hell exists.
But because He is also love, He wants to provide us with a way of salvation from hell.
That's why Jesus came to earth and died as a sacrifice to pay for our sins.
So that, by trusting in that sacrifice, we could be saved from the penalty of sin and be restored to a right relationship with God.

Salvation of mankind is not God's only goal.  He has many goals, not the least of which is His own glory.

There's no truth in the world. The bible is written by humans. And Humans are sinners, just as you said.
Prophets, Evangelists,... - all were human/sinners.

How can I believe in something so sinful?

I mean, look at the personal letters to galatians and what not. They're just letters from a human, who talked about God. Do you think they are all mighty? And their word is the truth?

2 Timothy 4:11-18
11 Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry. 12 I sent Tychicus to Ephesus. 13 When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, and my scrolls, especially the parchments.

God'll never lie and God'll always say the truth. But the people who're thinking they know the truth about god, are not almigthy.

So I think, with the term "believe in the bible" they meant, "believe in the bible's teachings" which teach me Love. Which teach you faith.
We all learn diferent things from the bible, but if we do good to the world, i think its alrigth?

Is it true that there is no truth in the world?

See that, truth must and does exist.
Even if truth didn't exist, it would be true that truth didn't exist, which would be a paradox, which means it's impossible for truth not to exist.

The Bible was physically written down by humans, but it was supernaturally authored by God Himself.
That's why it's full of accurate prophecies; because only God can predict the future so perfectly like that.…

Again, the physical penmen of the Bible were sinners, but God supernaturally worked through them to author His word.
1 Thessalonians 2:13--"For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us,
ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."

No, it's not "alright" if you just do good.
First off, no one is perfectly good.
Mark 10:18--"...there is none good but one, that is, God."

And the standard for entry into heaven (salvation) is absolute perfection.
But no one is perfectly sinless.
That's why Jesus died as a sacrifice to pay for our sins.
Only if we put our trust in that sacrifice and His subsequent resurrection do we have any hope for salvation.

Romans 4:4-5
"Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."

Even if gods speaks through people, they still make mistakes :)

Just look at Jesus, who defenetly spoke Gods words but still ... He lost his temper and raged through the temple. Destroying others peoples stuff.
Nobody's perfect and since god was human once, i think he udnerstands all the feelings, and rage and doubt people have.

Forgiving them although they nailed him to the cross.
Cause he loves us. all of us. Even the sinners and non-believers, cause he understands us. Cause he knows, how easy it is to make mistakes.
Of course, if you dont believe that you're mistakes/sins are ever been forgiven. You're going through hell - hell on earth.
So God offers you to lay all the sins on him, to be forgiven and go on in life. You can take that offer, or not.

And God speaks through other people right? Sending Angels in human forms. So I think it has to be possible to get forgiveness through other people.
How to know that they speak gods word? Isnt the Word of God the Word of Love? So as long as you have Love in your heart, you also have god in your heart.
But thats just my thesis.

I dont know if there're a bible verse for this. Its just a deep feeling. A deep feeling that comes by trying to understand god.
Cause I believe the better I understand him, the better I can behave.

Mathew 5
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
13 “You are the salt of the earth...
14 “You are the light of the world...
44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you
48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

So I guess it all lays in our hands to make the world a better place? We're not perfect, but we can try and believe in.

May we end that argument here? :)
I just wanted to exchange our thoughts :D
Maybe you can use mine, maybe I can use yours, maybe not, obviously you disagree with most of it :)

But could you do me one last favour. Can you tell me your thoughts? :)
Your thoughts about God? Starting the sentence with "I think..." :)
You dont have to find a quotation, I just want to know how you feel about it, deep in your heart :)

To understand you, to understand god, to understand the world :)
Thats my way of life I guess ^^'

I don't think you understand what I'm saying.
God supernaturally authored the Bible.
That means the exact words that He wanted to say were written down.
He didn't allow the human writers to make any mistakes.
2 Timothy 3:16--"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

Jesus didn't just speak God's word. He is God
And He didn't "lose His temper" in the way we do.
He had righteous anger for that fact that people were defiling the temple.
Anger is not a sin if it's for righteous reasons.
Jeremiah 10:10--"But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation."

"other people's stuff".
You do know God owns everything, right?
If Jesus wants to destroy something, He has the right to.
Psalms 24:1--"The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein."

Yes, God understands what it's like to be human, but He still never sinned.
Hebrews 4:15--"For we have not an high priest [Jesus] which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."

Forgiveness is only through faith in Jesus' sacrifice.
If you don't put your faith in God's payment for sin, God will not forgive your sin. And you will go to hell.  Not on earth.  Hell. Where the fire is.
Romans 3:25--"Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood..."
Romans 3:26--"To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."
Galatians 3:22--"But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe."

No, no, God only offers forgiveness through one route: faith in Jesus' sacrifice for sins.
John 14:6--"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Acts 4:12--"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

No, the word of God is the word of God.  God is love, but love is not God.
Don't confuse the two.
There is only one word of God, and it's not based on your opinion.
Someone can have all the love in the world, but if they don't have faith in Jesus' death to pay for their sins, they're going to hell.

If you want to understand God, you should read the book He wrote, not look into your own heart.
Jeremiah 17:9--"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

No, it's not even in our power to make the world a "better place".
The world will only become better when Jesus returns and sets up His kingdom.
Until then, sin will wreak havoc.
Isaiah 9:7--"Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."

I'm not the one who started this discussion.
You can leave any time you please.

No. I will start my sentence with "I know".
I know God is real.
I know the Bible is true.
I know Jesus is God.
I know Jesus died on the cross for my sins.
I know He was buried and then rose from the dead 3 days later.
I know that all who put their faith in His death as payment for their sins will be forgiven.
I know that this is the only hope for mankind.
I know that all who refuse this hope will go to hell for all eternity.
I know God does not want that.
I know many will still go there.
